Weekend #102 Candidate Count
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last - and so that whatever you ask in My name the Father will give you. This is My command; love each other." - John 15:16-17
LVCCM Statement of Faith
What We Believe About God's Word
We believe in the entirety of the Holy Bible, God's unchanging written Word, contained within the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe it was God-breathed and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, written without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it speaks. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21, John 10:35)
What We Believe About God
We believe in the one true God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 8:58)
What We Believe About Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the world's sins through His crucifixion. On the 3rd day, He rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, where He continually makes intercession for His people. He will come again to the earth, to consummate the eternal plan of God (Isaiah 7:14, John 1:1, 14, Romans 4:25, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Titus 2:13)
What We Believe About The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit was sent to believers as a gift to glorify Christ, convict us of sin, draw us to the Savior, give us a new identity, and seal us for redemption (Acts 2:38, John 16:8, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Romans 5:5, Ephesians 1:13-14)
What We Believe About Salvation
We believe we are saved by grace. Salvation is wholly a work of God's free grace and not of works or goodness. Those who are born of the Holy Spirit and receive Jesus Christ become heirs of eternal life (Romans 4:25, 2 Corinthians 5:21, John 14:6, Ephesians 2:1-5, 8-10, Romans 10:9-10)
What We Believe About God's Calling For Our Lives
God pours out freely His grace upon all humanity. In turn, we are to share the message of God's grace with the world so that they may come to accept this gift. We are chosen to be anointed by the Holy Spirit to bear fruit for God's glory. We are called to live a life of piety, to study God's Word, and then to go out, through our apostolic action, to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Chris, making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20)
